ACT for America chapter member takes a heroic stand against militant Islamist at work

Written and Reported by Act Chapter Leader MJ Wilson:

“I don’t care if a muslim, catholic, mormon, budhist, hindu, or member of any other religion prays in a public place or if a school or airport sets aside a place for people to pray. What I do have a problem with is one religion dominating the space and harrassing people not of their religion. At both Normandale Community College and Salt Lake International Airport this has happened with muslims telling non-muslims they are not allowed in the area because it is “our mosque”, putting up anti-semetic and anti-christian posters, and threatening to kill non-muslims who try to use the facilities after being harrassed. What makes this even more outrageous is that when people report the harassment to the school or airport officials nothing is done but as soon as a muslim reports being harrassed by someone else those people receive disciplinary action.

At Salt Lake International Airport they told muslim cab and van drivers they could use the driver breakroom for their prayers. Shortly afterwords all the tables and chairs were removed from the room and prayer rugs covered the floors and non-muslim drivers were harrassed and told they were not allowed in “our mosque.” When one driver began reporting the harrassments in October of 2007 nothing was done then at the beginning of January 2008 things escalated and the driver was arrested for assault with a muslim driver claiming he had been hit in the face with a radio. Now the driver arressted has been permanently banned from working at the airport after one complaint with nothing being done about his previous complaints of the muslim drivers harrassing him and threatening to “slit his throat.” Now while deciding the fate of the non-muslim driver SLC Intl. Airport officials closed the “meditation room” saying that they did not know if they would open it back up.”

Here are some links to articles about the Salt Lake International Airport “meditation room” which shows we are doing are job thanks to Mr. Brueningsen.

Again none of these stories would have been written if it were not for the brave ACT! for America member, Mr. Brueningsen, who has not only been banned from working at the airport as of Jan. 31, 2008 but has also had his life threatened.
